What is Thrash About?
The town of Annieville sits directly in the path of Category 5 Hurricane Henry. As most residents evacuate, a handful are trapped: Dakota (Phoebe Dynevor), unable to leave her recently-deceased mother's house due to crippling agoraphobia; Lisa, heavily pregnant and now in labour; and a small group of terrified survivors trying to reach high ground.
But the hurricane's storm surge doesn't just bring water. It brings bull sharks — now swimming through flooded streets, crashing through windows, circling the base of staircases. What follows is 89 minutes of relentless, waterlogged survival horror.
Directed by Tommy Wirkola (Violent Night, Dead Snow), Thrash debuted on Netflix on April 10, 2026 after Sony transferred the rights from a planned theatrical release. It immediately became Netflix's #1 film in its opening week — proof that the "Jaws-in-a-flood" concept delivers exactly what it promises.
